Wooler Walk Weekend 13th - 15th November 2009 - is based at the Wooler Youth Hostel - guided walks, accommodation, meal packages and evening entertainment are all part of the programme.

New for 2009 is the Wooler Walk Weekend. Walk Northumbria, with support from Northumberland National Park, has teamed up with the owners of Wooler Youth Hostel, the Glendale Gateway Trust, to bring a weekend of guided walks to the area.

The Glendale Gateway Trust purchased the Youth Hostel when it was scheduled for closure by YHA.

Staying at the three star graded Wooler Youth Hostel on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, Walk Northumbria Guides and Northumberland National Park Rangers will offer three walks each day and a night walk on the Saturday. Sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for the cultural heritage of the area, they will introduce you to the Cheviot Hills and beyond.

Your Weekend starts with arrival on the Friday evening followed by introductory talk and audio visual presentation "Northumberland, England’s Border County". Three guided walks will be available on the Saturday with the option of a bookable night walk. The walks will be repeated on the Sunday giving you the option of selecting a different guide with a different tale to tell. Your last evening (Sunday) can be spent around the fire listening to entertainment provided by local Northumbrian Musicians. You depart after breakfast on the Monday morning.

Four different options, inclusive of guided walks and evening entertainment, are available; all can be booked either on-line or over the phone very soon, through a one-stop booking service.

Options range from; Bed only £75.00; Bed & Breakfast £99.00; Bed, Breakfast & Three course Evening meal £125.00. For those not wishing to book accommodation, a Walks-only option is available at £35.00 (limited availability). Packed lunches will also be available to order.
